Yesterday I was informed through a contact of mine that a friend of a friend, an American male, was kidnapped from the local supermarket that many foreigners in Sana’a use. I was informed that it had not made the news yet, and I was hoping to reference it yesterday here but did not get the chance to due to chronic lack of power and internet access here. Well this morning it finally hit the news in the Yemen Post and you can read the article titled American Journalist Kidnapped in Yemen Capital. This is troubling as it is the first American to be kidnapped in some time I believe, and it was apparently on one of the main popular streets here and in broad daylight – and about 5 days ago.
